Job Opportunity: Interim Financial Controller
The Hays Bristol finance team is exclusively working with an outstanding charitable organisation, a market leader in its sector, undergoing an exciting period of transformation and change.
The senior leadership team seeks to appoint an interim financial controller to support the CFO in reviewing, processing, and improving critical business areas, specifically income, accounts receivable, and accounts payable. The role will also involve supporting a system update and managing any challenges that arise.
We aim to interview candidates as soon as next week, with the role potentially starting this month. The initial contract is expected to last 3-6 months (flexible), providing immediate support to the senior leadership team and assisting with long-term planning. The position is paid on a day-rate basis (inside or IR35, as it involves managing a team). The client prefers two days a week on-site in Bristol, but this is negotiable.
Candidate Requirements:
* Qualified accountant with strong technical skills.
* Experience in the charitable sector is desirable and advantageous.
* Personable with a positive attitude to foster a strong team culture.
* Reporting to the CFO, managing 4 direct reports within a team of approximately 16.
* Ability to review and drive process improvements.
* Leadership qualities to lead from the front.
* Capability to deliver and review information effectively to senior stakeholders.
