INTERNAL APPLICATIONS ONLY ​ Job Title: UK & Ireland Finance Director Department: Finance Reporting to: Global Finance Director Location: Farnborough – Hybrid (2 days per week in the office) ​ ​ Role Overview The UK & Ireland Finance Director is a senior leadership role with responsibility for the financial stewardship, control, and strategic financial management of the UK and Ireland operations. The role leads the Finance function across the UK Group, ensuring robust financial control, high‑quality management information, strong governance, and effective support to operational and strategic decision‑making. In addition to leading the local finance team, the role plays a critical part in Group management accounting, acting as a key interface between UK entities and Group Finance, and ensuring consistent, timely, and accurate reporting at Group level. ​ ​ Key Responsibilities 1. Financial Management & Reporting (UK & Ireland) Oversee the preparation and review of monthly management accounts, trial balances, balance sheets, and year‑end statutory accounts of all UK and Ireland based operations for the Mangrove Group of Companies. Lead the annual budgeting process and ongoing forecasting, monitoring performance against financial targets. Produce and review weekly cashflow forecasts, manage liquidity, and maintain robust cashflow controls working within the global facility limits. Oversee FX exposure, currency transactions, bank guarantees, rebates, and other treasury‑related activities. Monitor GMV, stock reports, margin performance, and other operational financial data, investigating and resolving anomalies. Ensure accurate and timely booking of all business transactions, including payments, VAT returns (UK and Ireland), and other tax obligations. Prepare high‑quality financial reports and analysis to support data‑driven decision‑making. ​ ​ 2. Group Management Accounting & Reporting Own and deliver the Mangrove Group monthly management accounts, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and adherence to Group reporting timetables. Prepare and review monthly Group reporting packs, including P&L, balance sheet, cashflow, and variance analysis and KPI reports against budget and forecast. Act as the primary UK finance contact for Group Finance on management reporting, accounting policies, and performance analysis. Ensure consistent application of Group accounting policies. Ensure that the Group provide clear financial insight, commentary, and analysis to explain performance drivers, risks, and opportunities at both UK and Group level. Meet all Mangrove Group bank reporting requirements monthly. Support Group‑wide budgeting, forecasting, and reforecasting processes, including alignment of UK plans with Group strategic objectives. ​ ​ 3. Accounting & Financial Control – UK Legal Entities Hold full accountability for statutory accounting, controls, and compliance across all UK‑based legal entities, not limited to Segen Limited. Ensure each UK legal entity maintains accurate books and records in line with UK GAAP and statutory requirements. Oversee the preparation, review, and filing of statutory accounts for all UK entities. Ensure robust internal controls, balance sheet reconciliations, and audit‑ready documentation across the UK Group. Act as the primary point of contact for external auditors, tax advisors, banks, and regulatory bodies for UK entities. Manage intercompany accounting, reconciliations, and settlements between UK entities and the wider Group. Ensure appropriate governance, delegation of authority, and financial controls are embedded and operating effectively. ​ ​ 4. Team Leadership & Development Lead, manage, and develop the UK & Ireland Finance team, ensuring clear objectives, accountability, and high performance. Provide coaching, guidance, and technical support to team members, promoting strong professional standards and best practice. Foster a culture of continuous improvement, including process optimisation, automation, and effective use of systems. Ensure appropriate succession planning and capability development within the finance function. ​ ​ 5. Compliance, Risk & Governance Ensure full compliance with internal financial controls, company policies, and statutory regulations. Oversee credit risk management, escalations, and resolution of finance‑related customer issues. Monitor and review external contracts and supplier arrangements to ensure value for money and risk mitigation. Oversee company insurance programmes and related compliance requirements. ​ ​ 6. Strategic & Commercial Advisory Act as a trusted financial advisor to the Managing Director, executive team, and senior stakeholders for the UK entities. Provide insight and challenge on financial strategy, commercial decisions, investment cases, and risk management. Partner with operational and commercial teams to support growth initiatives, margin improvement, and working capital optimisation. Liaise across departments on financial, operational, and commercial matters to ensure alignment and clarity. ​ 7. Other Responsibilities Review daily orders and shipments to ensure financial accuracy and control. Provide ad‑hoc support to other regions (e.g. Germany and South Africa) on finance‑related queries, as required. ​ Qualifications & Experience ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent professional qualification. ​Experience in a senior finance leadership role, ideally within a multi‑entity or Group environment. Strong technical knowledge of UK accounting, taxation, and statutory reporting requirements. Proven experience in management accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and cashflow management. Demonstrated leadership capability with experience building and leading high‑performing finance teams. Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
