Protec Fire and Security Group – Project Engineer (Rail Sector)
The Project Engineer (Fire Alarm, Electronic Security and Life Safety Systems) will work on and assist with the day‑to‑day project management of new Fire Detection and Alarm System projects in the rail sector. With a sound knowledge and previous experience in the fire and security industry, you will ensure efficient project delivery and installation of challenging, fast‑paced rail projects.
Responsibilities
* Handle projects from enquiry to completion.
* Manage a construction programme and report accordingly.
* Effectively manage installation works on site whilst liaising with both sub‑contractors and clients.
* Undertake relevant H & S duties such as safe starts and toolbox talks.
* Liaise with manufacturing, design and other departments to ensure timely delivery.
* Highlight problem areas and ensure they are effectively communicated to the relevant parties.
* Ensure compliance with codes, practices and specifications.
* Complete QA documentation ensuring works are of the appropriate standard and report snags to sub‑contractors.
* Delegate tasks to team members.
* Willingness to learn and undertake commercial responsibilities on projects.
* Any other duties commensurate with the position.
