Engineering Workshop Supervisor to oversee the day-to-day operations of a busy fleet maintenance workshop. This is a hands-on leadership role, ideal for someone with strong technical knowledge and proven experience managing engineering teams within a fleet or commercial vehicle environment.
Hours: 4 on 4 off – 08:00 – 16:00
Key Responsibilities:
* Supervise and support a team of technicians and cleaning staff during shifts
* Ensure all inspections, servicing, and repairs meet DVSA and internal compliance standards
* Provide hands-on technical support, particularly with complex or urgent faults
* Drive workshop efficiency, safety, and productivity
* Liaise effectively with operations to minimise vehicle downtime
* Support training and ongoing development of the engineering team
Requirements:
* NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in PSV or HGV Maintenance
* Demonstrable experience in a supervisory or team leadership role
* In-depth knowledge of Passenger Carrying Vehicles (PCV) and relevant compliance standards
* Strong communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills
* IT literacy and experience with fleet maintenance systems is desirable
