Complex Needs Teacher – Part Time (2 Days) – Solihull
A welcoming special school in Solihull is seeking a Complex Needs Teacher to join their team on a part-time basis, working Mondays and Tuesdays. This is a rewarding opportunity for a dedicated teacher who is passionate about supporting pupils with complex learning needs and providing a nurturing environment where they can thrive.
As a Complex Needs Teacher, you will be responsible for planning and delivering tailored lessons for small groups pupils with a range of special educational needs, including complex learning difficulties. You will work alongside experienced teaching assistants and specialist staff to create a safe, engaging, and supportive classroom environment. The role requires a creative and flexible approach, strong communication skills, and the ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet the diverse needs of pupils.
Responsibilities include:
1. Planning and delivering creative, differentiated lessons to meet individual pupil needs
2. Creating a positive and safe learning environment that promotes independence and confidence
3. Working closely with teaching assistants and specialist staff to support pupils effectively
4. Supporting communication, social, and emotional development of pupils
5. Building strong relationships with pupils, families, and external professionals
The ideal candidate will have:
6. QTS and experience teaching pupils with complex needs or special educational needs
7. The ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet a wide range of learning needs
8. Strong behaviour management and excellent communication skills
9. A patient, resilient, and nurturing approach to teaching
10. Previous experience in a SEND school or specialist setting (desirable)
