Job Introduction

Are you passionate about trees, woodland ecosystems, and inspiring the next generation of arborists? East Durham College is seeking a dedicated Lecturer in Arboriculture and Woodland Management to join our dynamic team at the Houghall Campus.


What You'll Do:

* Deliver engaging and high-quality teaching across arboriculture and woodland management subjects.
* Prepare and evaluate course materials, assignments, and online resources.
* Support students through interviews, guidance, and arranging work experience.
* Participate in course development, moderation, and college promotional events.
* Uphold college values, safeguarding responsibilities, and promote equality and diversity.


What We're Looking For:

* A minimum Level 3 qualification in a relevant subject (e.g., tree science, woodland management, urban forestry).
* Teaching qualification (Cert Ed/PGCE/DTLLS) or willingness to work towards one.
* Industry experience and a proven track record of delivering vocational education.
* Strong communication, organisational, and IT skills.
* Commitment to professional development and student success.


Desirable Extras:

* NPTC qualifications (MEWP, chainsaw from MEWP, stump grinder, etc.)
* First Aid at Work (+F)
* Experience working with diverse learner groups (14–19+)
