Assistant Finance Officer
Temp Assignment | Grays | £13.98 ph | Mon-Thurs
Key Responsibilities:
* Process invoices and credit notes accurately, ensuring correct coding, calculation, and reconciliation.
* Maintain strong supplier relationships and reconcile supplier statements.
* Process purchase orders and manage BACS payments for expenses and supplier payments.
* Raise invoices/credit notes to customers/students and allocate incoming payments.
* Conduct debt recovery, send reminders, and follow up on late payments.
* Prepare and reconcile petty cash and daily banking, including recording all income (e.g., fees, deposits, contributions, trips).
* Arrange BACS payments for approved bursaries, refunds, and other payments.
* Manage and update the online payments portal.
* Prepare central recharging journals.
* Support the Finance Manager with maintaining financial records and systems to audit standards.
* Provide a payment service and respond to financial queries
* Update financial information regularly and communicate with management and team members.
* Assist with month-end and year-end financial procedures.
* Ensure compliance with financial regulations, policies, and procedures, including supporting staff training.
* Liaise with internal and external auditors.
* Undertake additional administrative and finance-related duties as required.

Job details:
* £13.98 per hour
* 8:30am - 4:30pm Mon - Thurs if the temporary placement is extended, it will be required during the holidays.
* Due to location of this role a current enhanced DBS check is mandatory for this position.
* Located at the Grays site however you may be asked to travel to other premises in Benfleet if required.
* Temporary Assignment until May 2026
