R&D Engineer – Smoke Control & Fire Dampeners Job Title: R&D Engineer – Smoke Control & Fire Dampeners Job reference Number: (phone number removed) Industry Sector: R&D, Research and Development, R&D Engineer, Product Development, New Products, Fire & Smoke Controls, Fire & Smoke Dampers, Smoke Ventilation Fans, Air & Volume Control Dampers, Damper Control Systems, HVAC products, M&E Consultants, Main Contractors, M&E Contractors, Ductwork Contractors, Plumbing & Heating and HVAC Distributors and other Building Services Products Location: Aylesford Remuneration: £40,000 - £45,000 Benefits: Comprehensive Benefits Packages The role of the R&D Engineer – Smoke Control & Fire Dampeners will involve: * R&D Engineer position dealing with the development of a large portfolio of fire and smoke control products * Designing new products or making design modifications to currently portfolio * Producing drawings of installations for testing purposes * May be some travel involved to Dover and Barcelona to carry out witness testing and build testing * Carry out mechanical based analysis, development and design of products and equipment * Understand and improve our clients current product range designs * Produce and check CAD drawings, documentation and technical reports * Ensuring smooth transition from design stage through to manufacture * Prototype testing and documenting reports * Ensure all works are completed to H&S regulations and to the highest standard * Ensure all technical documentation is accurate to support product range * Liaison with production team to assist with the manufacturing of products The ideal applicant will be an R&D Engineer – Smoke Control & Fire Dampeners with: * Must be from an R&D or product development background dealing with smoke control systems, fire dampeners or a related products like sheet metal, fans, ductworks * 3D CAD experience, ideally with Autodesk Inventor * Experience working with sheet metal preferred * Familiarity with fluid dynamics, leakage testing, air flow testing would be highly advantageous * Ability to interpret technical drawings * Acumen to work with technical information/data and EN standards * A ‘can do’ flexible attitude, with the ability to work independently or as part of a team * Good analytical and numerical skills * Creative, problem solver, analytical minded * Excellent communication skills both written and verbal across all levels * Self-motivated, exceptional time management and high levels of organisation Mitchell Maguire is a specialist Construction Recruitment Consultancy, dealing exclusively with Construction Jobs, Construction vacancies and Specification positions within: Fire & Smoke Controls, Fire & Smoke Dampers, Smoke Ventilation Fans, Air & Volume Control Dampers, Damper Control Systems, HVAC products, M&E Consultants, Main Contractors, M&E Contractors, Ductwork Contractors, Plumbing & Heating and HVAC Distributors and other Building Services Products
