THE ROLE:
Experienced in Market research with the key objective of identifying new business opportunities.
Cold calling prospective clients, to make appointments for the sales representatives.
Working as part of the Business Development Team, to generate New business opportunities. This is a KPI-driven role with bonus incentives.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THIS ROLE:
Business Development Activities.
Cold Calling: This is essential daily to ensure that there are enough new prospects generated to identify any business opportunities.
Setting Appointments: Appointments for Business Development Managers must be fully qualified in line with criteria set out in the UK Sales Business Development Process.
Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of the Company products and services to ensure the client base is fully informed of our capabilities and identify upselling opportunities.
Assisting with Quotations: Support maybe requested by the Business Development Manager for quote Value Creation.
Excellence distribution, all quotes must be logged onto the quote log and followed up in a timely manner.
Building and maintaining a database of prospects to send out regular mailshots.
Maintaining files of prospects and schedules calls for future opportunities in the CRM.
Ensuring that all data in the CRM system is entered correctly and progressed to conclusion. Targets:
Appointment Setting: 8 appointments per week meeting the Ideal Client criteria set up in the Business Development Accountability Process.
Introduction of new data: Identify and add 40 new records to the CRM per month for prospecting.
Skills and Abilities:
Cold calling experience essential.
Time management.
Experience of working in a target driven environment.
IT Literature, MS office skills, PowerPoint experience essential.
Product knowledge of different trade lanes and services, within the freight forwarding market
Proficiency with sales databases.
Ability to work as part of a team, developing new product awareness where required. General:
