Your Role & Impact
·Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on mechanical plant and equipment
·Diagnose mechanical faults and carry out effective repairs to minimise downtime
·Conduct routine inspections and servicing of plant machinery.
·Work closely with the production teams to minimize equipment downtime and improve productivity.
·Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair activities.
·Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies.
·Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in processes and equipment efficiency.
·Assist in the installation and commissioning of new equipment as required in line with engineering drawings and specifications
·Work as part of a team and liaise with external contractors when necessary.
· Able to Strip, inspect, repair, and rebuild mechanical assemblies including gearboxes, pumps, motors, conveyors, bearings, and shafts
Required skills and responsibilities
* Proven experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or production environment
* Strong mechanical and diagnostic skills.
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
* Experience with hydraulics and pneumatics.
* A recognised engineering qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 3, HNC, or equivalent) in mechanical engineering.
* Effective problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
* Flexibility to work shifts and respond to callouts when required.
* Good communication and teamwork skills.
* Carry out risk assessments and follow safe systems of work (LOTO, permits, RAMS)
* Maintain high housekeeping standards
* Flexible and adaptable to changing production demands
* Strong attention to detail and quality of work
* Self-motivated with a proactive approach
* Overtime as required to support business needs
