Responsibilities: As a Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for: Designing and implementing test solutions and automation from scratch, utilizing best practice approaches. Applying structured testing and automation techniques aligned with TDD/BDD. Bringing experience in testing within the CI/CD lifecycle and familiarity with automation testing frameworks. Applying risk-based testing methodologies and upskilling the engineering team to enhance overall QA capability. Implementing test design techniques and demonstrating strong test analysis skills. Managing test data and ensuring quality of testing collateral. Having a broad understanding of test levels, including Unit, System, Functional, and Integration testing, as well as Non-Functional Requirements (NFR) testing (such as performance, accessibility, and security testing). Analyzing complex business requirements, processes, and technical architectures, which will inform your testing solutions. Collaborating across the product stack and engaging in development activities through pair programming techniques. You will be working in a hybrid environment in Telford, engaging in manual testing when automation avenues have been exhausted, and are expected to become T-shaped professionals capable of operating across the product stack. The Core Modernisation Engineering team anticipates substantial growth during 2025, aiming for 1 or 2 Quality Engineers per scrum team, within a total scrum team size of 4 to 8 engineers.
