Job requirements
The Role:
We have a new opportunity to join the thriving Aptia projects team at a senior level.
As Operations Director, you will be responsible for successful delivery of projects and an overall programme of work relating to Guaranteed Minimum Pension (GMP). This will include planning and management of people, delivery, stakeholders and budgets.
You will lead several project teams, work with the wider project area and own relationships with client teams to ensure an excellent service is provided to clients and members throughout projects.
Aptia have offices across the UK and support a range of flexible hybrid working arrangements. We are open to candidates in any UK location.
What you'll be doing:
* Working collaboratively as one of the senior managers within the project area.
* Planning strategically with management but also controlling key details in your teams.
* Delivering and focusing on key commercial outcomes, budgets and revenue targets.
* Proactively managing a pipeline of work as a key input to the budgets and utilisation.
* Fostering strong two-way working relationships with client teams, including regular delivery review meetings and supporting with client meetings as necessary.
* Ensuring work is delivered to time and budget, including managing changes to scope.
* Routinely monitoring and reporting project and staff metrics and taking appropriate actions.
* Proactively learning from experience to improve processes, financial metrics, MI or materials working with appropriate teams and colleagues as necessary.
* Managing and communicating with your teams to ensure ongoing alignment to objectives, delivery of financial targets (e.g. utilisation) and responsiveness to business needs.
* Supporting client teams with planning of more complex projects from the outset.
* Acting as a point of escalation during delivery and solving any issues arising.
What we're looking for:
* Senior experience of overseeing delivery of projects (3 years+).
* Proven ability to lead and inspire teams to deliver complex work.
* Team player with analytical, evidence-driven and thorough approach to working.
* Experience of owning and managing budgets, staff and operational plans.
* Ability to own relationships and communicate effectively with key stakeholders.
* Proactive and agile approach to delivery, problem solving and change management.
* Pensions projects and administration experience both highly desirable.
* Knowledge of Guaranteed Minimum Pensions and pension benefits desirable.
