A quick look at the role
The role holder will be responsible for the quality control testing on an anaerobic digestion plant, which is a 24/7 operation, undertaking analytical services of the different streams generated along the process, ensuring health & safety and environmental compliance such as ABP and PAS110, whilst contributing to continuous improvement in productivity and plant availability.
Your Core Responsibilities
* Check/record analytical results with a high level of accuracy, highlighting any borderline or non confirming results to the Plant Supervisor
* Provide high operational availability, and an efficient diagnosis taking into account the undergoing analytical services
* Ensure record of any delivery into the plant, not only waste but also any chemical product
* Carry out non routine analytical work as directed by the Plant Supervisor/Plant Manager
* Carry out housekeeping activities in the laboratory
* Carry out routine calibration of different instruments
* Liaise with supervisor to ensure timely supply of analytical consumables/ chemical substances required for undergoing the testing activities always making the effort of minimizing process downtime, maximizing throughput and ensuring quality standards of the input/output products such as ABP and PAS110.
* Sampling and testing different products such as the input waste as well as the output materials like inerts, digestate, biogas and other sort of effluents being sure that they fulfil the quality standards
Requirements
Our essential requirements
* Minimum GCSE or equivalent in Maths and English, ideally with NVQ Level 3 in a chemical discipline.
* 2+ years' experience as a Quality Assurance Laboratory Technician or similar role, ideally in green waste or water treatment.
* Competent with laboratory testing protocols, instruments, and chemical substances.
* Experience in 24/7 operational environments and familiarity with weighbridge operations (desirable).
* IOSH or other safety qualifications (desirable)
