West Midlands Growth Company helps create new jobs, build and expand businesses, attract regional investment, and encourage tourism to the region.
This role is part of the Visitor Economy and Tourism team, which works to deliver the aims of the West Midlands Regional Visitor Economy Strategic Framework (2025-2030). The jobholder will be responsible for supporting the successful delivery and monitoring of projects across the Local Visitor Economy Partnership (LVEP) and Destination Development Partnership (DDP) priority areas.
Key responsibilities:
1. Build relationships and collaborate with local destination partners and stakeholders.
2. Assist the Head of Tourism in coordinating regional LVEP quarterly meetings, programmes, and reporting.
3. Support the development of the DDP framework and LVEP programme.
4. Monitor the annual LVEP tourism growth action plan and KPIs.
5. Share best practices regionally and nationally to support LVEP and DDP.
6. Deliver key projects and support work across teams in areas such as marketing, research, monitoring, evaluation, sustainability, accessibility, and travel trade, including:
* Projects related to accessible and inclusive business practices, skills development, and sustainable travel.
* Supporting research projects and data collection with the Senior Research & Evaluation Manager.
* Assisting with fam trips and trade activities with the Travel Trade Manager.
* Supporting procurement and reporting for visitor economy projects.
* Engaging internal stakeholders to ensure project progress and troubleshoot issues.
Minimum requirements include:
* Degree or equivalent experience in business, visitor economy, or tourism-related fields.
* Strong organizational, analytical, and attention to detail skills.
* Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
* Proven ability to develop effective relationships with stakeholders.
* Relationship management skills.
* Self-motivated with initiative.
* Proven experience in the visitor economy sector.
* Experience working with complex stakeholders.
* Team player with proactive professional development.
* Knowledge of Local Visitor Economy Partnerships and Destination Management Organisations.
* Understanding of key issues facing visitor economy organizations.
* Knowledge of travel trade, training, and visitor services.
