We’re looking for a Product Manager for the Alignment & Level Metrology product line to join our team. Reporting to the Senior Business Development Manager, the Project Manager will have a keen eye to identify gaps and opportunities in the A&L metrology market with an innovative mind to fulfil them. As well possessing a high level of technical capability the product manager will also be able to strategize the full lifecycle of product production from conception to release. Defining and supporting the A&L metrology solutions to meet and exceed targets. They should also be a confident leader with experience in guiding cross-functional and international teams in the successful creation of A&L metrology products and relevant applications infomration. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of the growing Alignment and Level metrology group.

Main Duties/Responsibilities:

1. Drive the execution of all product lifecycle processes for products, including product research, market research, competitive analysis, planning, positioning, roadmap development, requirements development, and product launch
2. Translate product strategy into detailed requirements for prototype construction and final product development by engineering teams
3. Create product strategy documents that describe business cases, high-level use cases, technical requirements, revenue, and ROI
4. Analyse market data to develop sales strategies, and define product objectives for effective marketing communications plans
5. Collaborate closely with R+D, production, marketing, and sales teams on the development, QA, and release of products
6. Support customer relation by hands on measurements on site at customers premises and demonstration of measurements on customer applications, data analysis and presentation of results
7. Track and ensure high standard of quality of A&L metrology products to be built and delivered to the customers
8. Develop product positioning and messaging that differentiates Taylor Hobson instruments and their features across market segments by assessing competitors’ offerings
9. Develop and maintain accurate and relevant marketing material for new and existing products
10. Provide in-depth product knowledge to support the sales team
11. Develop a thorough understanding of the market needs and requirements through excellent customer relations

Required Essential Skills:

12. Demonstrate a detailed knowledge of mechanical engineering or physics to degree level or through a proven track record in an associated discipline.
13. At least 5 years’ experience in at a minimum of one of the following: precision engineering or A&L metrology.
14. Good working knowledge of A&L manufacturing and metrology or similar discipline
15. Good knowledge of the global market and competitive landscape of A&L metrology
16. Strong ability to communicate to sales, R+D, operations, and management teams on all levels (internal and external, locally, and internationally)
17. Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.
18. Willingness and ability to travel.
19. Enthusiastic and pragmatic approach to problem solving.
20. Able to work independently with a self-motivated self-driven style.
21. Experience in a customer facing product support role.
22. Fluent English language (business level) in spoken word and writing
23. Experience in product / project management preferred.
24. Practical knowledge of product usability and commercialization with appreciation of electronic, electrical and software design
25. Experience of managing small, technical teams (locally and international).

Degree/Certification:

30. Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Physics or similar discipline.
