Job Summary
We are looking for two enthusiastic and conscientious Locum Speciality Dentists to join our professional and supportive team in Oral Surgery at Birmingham Dental Hospital. These are 12-month locum contracts to cover maternity leave.
The successful candidates will work under the direction of Consultants in Oral Surgery, undertaking all aspects of oral surgery dental care, including emergency services at the hospital. The team includes Consultants, Specialist Dentists, Speciality Dentists, Core Trainees, Dental Registrars, dental nurses, and administrative support.
Candidates should be professional, caring, with excellent clinical skills, patient-centered care approach, and outstanding communication skills for effective team and patient interactions.
Main duties of the job
* Provide outpatient and day-case oral surgery care at Birmingham Dental Hospital, reporting to the Head of Service in Oral Surgery.
* Conduct outpatient oral surgery, consultation clinics, demand-driven sessions, and surgical activities using local anesthesia, sedation, and general anesthesia. Willingness to work across all areas of Oral Surgery and Urgent Care is essential.
* Discharge duties according to Trust policies, with occasional emergency duties outside normal hours.
* Manage departmental administration and correspondence, participate in Quality Assurance, Clinical Audit, and Governance programs.

Salary and Contract
Salary ranges from £59,175 to £95,400 per year. The position is a 12-month fixed-term contract, full-time or part-time, on a non-resident basis with no on-call requirement. Limited onsite parking is available.
Professional Requirements
* Registered with the GDC with a license to practice.
* Member of an appropriate dental defense organization is encouraged.
