Salary: Up to £42,950 dependenton skills and experience) Whatyou’ll be doing: · Ensure that all aspects of Welderapprovals and Welding procedures are up to date and being correctlymaintained · Interpret standards andspecifications in relation to welding and associatedprocesses · Aptitude to solve shop floor andproduction welding relatedproblems · Support continuous improvementphilosophy and practices within the weldingprocesses · Advise Operations on the optimumwelding processes to achieve key safety, quality and costperformance measures
· Collaborate with colleagues acrossthe globe (UK, Australia and Canada) to share best practice and LfEacross a range ofprogrammes
Your skills andexperiences: Essential:
· High level of welding processawareness aligned to good practical welding skills on most weldingprocesses/equipment/techniques

The BAE Systems WeldingEngineering Team is responsible for ensuring that the business isfully compliant with all relevant standards and also for drivingimprovements in our welding processes. Welding is one of the coreprocesses at the heart of our business and we have recentlyinvested in new state of the art robotic welding systems. Wecurrently have a team of 5 engineers but are looking to expand theteam to support the Shipbuilding programmes on the Clyde. In thisrole you will have the opportunity to enhance your skills andknowledge by helping to develop and optimise as well as to helpshape our welding processes to support both current and futureprogrammes Why BAESystems?
