OverviewThis position will report to the Bristol Plant Manager and will be responsible for the Materials Management functions in the Bristol Plant. The role will be responsible for identifying best practices within MSA, developing a supply chain organizational structure that will drive optimization of human resources (skill sets and competencies), improve efficiencies and standardization in processes. This position will streamline spend and drive optimization of inventories, reduce costs, all while maximizing the use of the ERP system for consistent reporting and tracking. The job holder will complete all of the above in line with the Plant Midterm strategic aim of creating an optimized supply chain whilst developing the overall capability within the supply chain.ResponsibilitiesDemand Planning processEnsure optimal pipeline of material using SAP. Conduct monthly reviews with all various function and departments on demand expectations that could potentially impact plant production levels. Ensure that demand is translated into appropriate material pipelines and factory resourcing plans. Ensure the plant is fully integrated with and utilizing the global demand management processes in order to optimize the plant’s supply chain.Production Planning processEnsure production planning is effectively executed in order to achieve required targets for OTD, inventory, and cost recoveries. Develop standard ways of working that increase the rigor and effectiveness of the production planning team. Ensure planning process is consistent with other MSA plants and that an appropriate resource is allocated. Management of T Port process that satisfies internal sales demands.Warehouse ManagementManagement of warehouse supervisors and functions covering Goods In, material storage and Picking, and Dispatch.Ensure warehouse resources are effectively deployed to maximize OTD (internal and external), material accuracies, and picking efficiencies.Ensure optimized pick and pack process that reduces delay to and error at customer.Install processes that measure and increase picking efficiency, and accuracy/timeliness of picking to productionIdentify and implement processes that measure and improve material accuracy.Material PlanningManagement of material planners and processes that ensure continuous supply that meets the production plan requirement and maintains agreed inventory targets.Ensure optimized application of SAP processes that identify and drive required Pos.Ensure PO confirmation and delivery times from vendors are as required.PIPO Management/Engineering change managementBy establishing effective reviews with appropriate departments, install and optimize processes that effectively manage PIPO activities and reduce financial impact of obsolescence.Effective management of I and O review and forecasting.Appropriate involvement throughout the 3D process to ensure launch strategies are effectively delivered.Continuous ImprovementPropose and drive continuous improvement projects that lead to lead time improvement, inventory reduction and productivity improvementTeam leadership and developmentBy constantly benchmarking with internal and external sites, understand and deploy best in class ways of working. Develop and install individual development plans that ensure team members are able to effectively deliver dept and site goals and objectives.QualificationsExperience (required)10 years’ experience in Materials Management / Logistics / Operations / or other related disciplineSupervisory experienceStrong analytical experienceProficiency with Microsoft Office SuiteExperience with SAP or similar ERPIn-depth working experience with S&OP, Logistics and other related supply chain processesExcellent communication and “influencing others” skillsExperience at building strong work relationships / teamsExperience in driving changeExperience (preferred) 5 years of supervisory experienceEducation (preferred)Commitment to ongoing professional developmentTravel: Estimated 5%
