About the Role
We are seeking a caring, enthusiastic, and committed Key Stage 1 Teaching Assistant to join our team. This is a fantastic opportunity to support pupils in Years 1 and 2 during a key stage of their development, helping them build strong foundations in literacy, numeracy, and social skills.
The role is to start in September and will be for the full Academic Year 8.45-3.15 Monday to Friday.
You will work alongside class teachers to support learning, deliver interventions, and help create an engaging and inclusive classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Support pupils in Key Stage 1 with their learning, both in class and in small groups
* Assist with the delivery of phonics, early reading, writing, and maths activities
* Provide targeted support for pupils who need additional help
* Support classroom management and encourage positive behaviour
* Help prepare learning resources and maintain an organised classroom
* Promote pupils’ confidence, independence, and wellbeing
* Contribute to assessment and progress monitoring where required
About You
We are looking for someone who:
* Has experience working with young children, ideally in a primary school setting
* Has a good understanding of Key Stage 1 curriculum and phonics (desirable)
* Is patient, nurturing, and able to build positive relationships
* Has strong communication and teamwork skills
* Is proactive, flexible, and committed to supporting all learners
* Holds a relevant qualification (e.g. Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant) or equivalent experience
