Join Anglian Water's Strategic Pipeline Alliance as an EcIA Deputy Lead. Location: Flexible/Hybrid work from Peterborough office and home Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent Are you detail-oriented, organized, and passionate about contributing to one of the UK’s most ambitious water infrastructure projects? The Strategic Pipeline Alliance (SPA) is searching for an EcIA Deputy Lead to support and enhance our project delivery team. What will you be doing as our new EcIA Deputy Lead? You will be supporting the EcIA Lead in technical aspects of the delivery of assessment work for one or more SPA schemes (to include EIA), whilst collaborating closely with SPA colleagues across the consenting and delivery teams. You will act as an effective bridge between various teams and stakeholders ensuring Ecology is always considered as part of project activity. You will assist the EcIA Lead in scoping and delivery of technical impact assessment work including HRAs, manage delivery of field surveys, and produce draft and final reviews of text for assessment reports. Key responsibilities: Assist the EcIA Lead to Scope and specify technical impact assessment work, including HRA where required, aiming for the absolute minimum survey and assessment scope required to deliver low risk consenting. Assist the EcIA Lead to produce a robust ecology chapter for the environmental statement for your scheme(s). Assist the EcIA Lead to review technical appendices for assessment reports to ensure that they provide the detail required for the assessment. Assist in ecological stakeholder engagement for your scheme(s), including with the local Wildlife Trusts, county ecologists etc. Work collaboratively with SPA colleagues to assist in the management of the ecological inputs to one or more of the individual SPA schemes. Work with the delivery and design teams to ensure that scheme routes avoid ecological features as far as is possible and that mitigation, where required, is achievable and proportionate. A little bit about your skills, experience and behaviours: This job might be for you if you have: A qualification or equivalent professional experience in a relevant environment or technical discipline and chartership or full membership of a relevant professional institute (or be working towards the latter). Experience of working in a team of technical experts in the delivery of a particular ecological specialism, such as species specialism/licences, EcIA, HRA and the prescribing and implementing of mitigation measures. Experience of implementing quality assurance reviews of reporting deliverables. Confidence in communicating across consenting and delivery teams as well as with external stakeholders. Effective written and verbal communication, and organization/analytical skills.
