The primary role of the Integrated Support Engineer/Technical Author is to create, edit and maintain t echnical doc uments, including Component Maintenance Manuals (CMM), Service Bulletins, Aircraft Maintenance Manuals (AMM) and Illustrated Parts Catalogues (IPC) to meet the agreed requirements. KEY JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES Employees You are responsible for ensuring that activities under your control are undertaken in accordance with the requirements set out in the GP Strategies, Technical Publications, Health and Safety Manual Main Activities Populate illustrated Parts Data in EAGLE. Produce technical documentation to the required quality and Specifications. Produce Technical documents as required in a timely manner. Ensure quality control of documentation in accordance with applicable technical authoring specifications and standards. Maintain records and files of all versions and revisions in conjunction with document control. Support the technical verification and validation of technical documentation. Carry out assessments of future work as detailed by the platform lead ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE Educated to at least HNC level or equivalent in a relevant aviation related subject. Alternatively, to have completed a recognised engineering apprenticeship followed by a period of employment in all aspects of aircraft maintenance and overhaul, sufficient to gain the necessary practical experience for the job role. A knowledge of Merlin or Wildcat aircraft preferred but not essential Detailed knowledge of Supportability and Air Publication specifications e.g. ASD S1000D (Issue 2.1 and 2.2), Def-Stan 00-60, S2000M, ATA2-02-90 etc. A good working knowledge of Simplified Technical English (ASD-STE-100). Knowledge of technical authoring and production tools e.g. Framemaker, EAGLE, Eagle Publishing System (EPS) and CAPS2000. Have the ability to interpret engineering drawings and use Enovia and Catia. Good working knowledge of the Microsoft Office programmes. Excellent inter-personal skills. Have ability to work to changing deadlines under pressure. A knowledge of Merlin or Wildcat aircraft preferred but not essential. Scope of Role Support the timely delivery of the agreed updates/creation of Publications and IPS technical data to meet the requirements of all stakeholders Key Measures Production of Technical information to the correct standard within the timeframe allocated by the statement of work.
