We are looking to appoint a ST4-ST8 Paediatric Clinical Fellow to join our team of 14 consultants.
Neptune Children’s ward is a general paediatric ward that caters typically from birth to 16 years. There are 10 side rooms (prioritised for those requiring isolation) and one six‑bedded bay that caters for those children requiring emergency, elective or high‑dependency care. There is an additional four‑bedded nursery with cots.
As an employee of the Trust, you will work in close co‑operation with all departments and other medical, professional and managerial colleagues to provide high‑quality healthcare to the Trust’s patients. Middle‑grade medical personnel work on a shift system but have a nominated consultant. Wherever possible the timetable aims to provide continuity of middle‑grade medical staff, although there may be occasions where the on‑take commitment and the junior doctor’s requirement lead to alternative arrangements.
Our ambition is to deliver excellent local and specialist services, to improve the health and well‑being of our patients, and to provide a vibrant place for staff to develop, innovate and build their careers.
We aim to make the most of our skills and experiences so we can become the best we can be. As one organisation we will recruit the finest and retain more specialist staff, delivering more employment opportunities across our Trust.
Key Responsibilities
* The doctor will be expected to demonstrate qualities of leadership, recognise limits and seek help and advice appropriately.
* Liaise between nurses, other junior doctors, patients, relatives and senior medical staff.
* Attend and participate in ward rounds and operating theatre sessions as per timetable.
* Attend general and specialist out‑patient, diagnostic and pre‑assessment clinics.
