A bit about the role The Head of Technology & Data Platforms is a senior leadership role accountable for delivering measurable business outcomes across the investment lifecycle through technology, data, and analytics. Reporting directly to the CIO and forming part of the Technology Leadership Team, this role ensures technology enhances investment decision‑making, client engagement, and commercial growth, while simplifying the technology estate and operating within Aviva Investors’ risk and regulatory framework. The remit spans Investment Technology (Front Office, Research, Analytics, and Investment Risk), Distribution and Marketing Technology, and the commercial activation of platforms, analytics and AI capabilities. With end‑to‑end accountability for data platforms, data engineering and analytics enablement, the role drives high‑quality insight and confident, explainable decision‑making across the front‑to‑back investment and distribution lifecycle. Acting as a single point of accountability, it translates strategy into execution, ensuring enterprise prioritisation, governance and value realisation. The role reflects the growing strategic importance of technology in delivering growth, efficiency, client outcomes and leadership capability within the CIO function.
Responsibilities Deliver measurable business outcomes across the investment lifecycle using technology, data and analytics.
Ensure technology enhances investment decision‑making, client engagement and commercial growth while simplifying the technology estate.
Lead Investment Technology across Front Office, Research, Analytics and Investment Risk.
Lead Distribution and Marketing Technology and the commercial activation of platforms, analytics and AI capabilities.
Own end‑to‑end accountability for data platforms, data engineering and analytics enablement to drive high‑quality insight.
Translate strategy into execution, ensuring enterprise prioritisation, governance and value realisation.
Report directly to the CIO and act as the single point of accountability for the technology and data platforms function.
Operate effectively in complex, regulated and outsourced data and technology environments.
Qualifications & Experience Degree or equivalent senior experience in a relevant discipline.
Demonstrated commitment to continuous professional development.
Senior leadership experience within asset management or regulated financial services.
Executive‑level leadership development or equivalent experience leading enterprise‑scale change.
Experience operating in complex, regulated and outsourced data and technology environments.
