As a Support Worker at Ashland Road West, a registered care home in Sutton‑in‑Ashfield, you will provide person‑centred care to ten service users with moderate to profound learning disabilities, physical disabilities, communication needs and complex healthcare requirements.
The Role
As a Support Worker, your role will involve helping service users to live as independently as possible. You will provide personal care, support day trips, play games, sensory experiences and watch movies. Some of your main duties include:
* Supporting service users with personal care, including washing, bathing, dressing, and feeding.
* Providing administrative medication and supporting health appointments.
* Providing emotional support and encouraging engagement in learning opportunities.
* Assisting with domestic tasks such as cooking, cleaning and laundry.
* Using hoists, wheelchairs and other equipment as required, with full training provided.
High levels of moving & handling and risk management are involved; you must be willing and able to undertake these duties.
About You
We are looking for a team player who is supportive, friendly, flexible and able to deliver high standards of personal care. Empathy, compassion and a robust safe approach to risk management are key. Experience with learning disabilities is desirable but not essential.

Working Hours and Shift Patterns
You will ideally work full time 37 hours per week (no less than 30 hours) on a rotating shift basis, including bank holidays and weekends.
* Early – 7am to 3pm.
* Late – 1.30pm to 9.30pm.
* Waking night – 8.45pm to 7.15am (bonus paid).
Travelling to Ashland Road West
Local candidates or those who can drive are desirable. Public transport involves a 10‑minute walk from the nearest bus stop in early hours, and the home is an 18‑minute drive from Mansfield city centre.
