Are you a qualified Electrician with experience in commercial or public sector maintenance? DN Colleges Group is looking for a skilled and proactive professional to join our Estates team. You’ll play a vital role in ensuring our buildings and systems are safe, efficient, and fully operational for students and staff.
About the Role
As a Maintenance Electrical Engineer, you’ll be responsible for delivering high-quality electrical maintenance across our college sites. This includes planned preventative maintenance, reactive repairs, and statutory testing. You’ll work closely with colleagues and contractors to ensure our facilities meet the highest standards of safety and functionality.
Essential Criteria
To be successful in this role, you must have:
1. NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds in Electrical Maintenance (or equivalent)
2. 18th Edition Wiring Regulations certification
3. Experience in electrical maintenance within large commercial or public sector buildings
4. Knowledge of building maintenance and electrical systems, including health and safety compliance
5. A full, clean UK driving licence
Key Responsibilities
6. Carry out electrical maintenance, fault finding, and repairs across college sites
7. Complete statutory, mandatory, and planned preventative maintenance tasks
8. Maintain and update asset registers and compliance records
9. Support inspections, surveys, and emergency call-outs as required
10. Liaise with contractors and internal teams to ensure timely and safe completion of works
11. Use relevant software systems (e.g. BMS, helpdesk, PDA) to manage tasks and reporting
12. Assist with training and mentoring of apprentices and new staff
13. Work safely at height and in confined spaces using appropriate PPE and equipment
