The Role And Responsibilities
You will lead and be responsible for a portfolio of the Theme's most complex and highest priority engagements, ensuring the timely delivery of effective regulatory outcomes in line with our risk appetite and corporate priorities.
You will work with internal stakeholders to help embed new processes across the team and help develop confidence and capabilities in newly developing approaches. You will build and foster strong internal and external stakeholder relationships.
Be accountable for the timely delivery of effective intervention and outcomes on the most complex and high profile interventions with schemes and third-party stakeholders and be responsible for the delivery of effective regulatory outcomes in your portfolio.
You will mentor and coach colleagues and share knowledge within and beyond the Theme.
Support the Theme's management team in the introduction of change initiatives and deputise for Principals as necessary.
Lead external engagements on key issues or complex interventions where required and do so with confidence and credibility.
Collaborate with all stakeholders across TPR and externally.
Offer technical advice support and guidance, as well as leading by example through demonstrating TPR competencies and TPR values.
The role criteria
Experience of working in regulation or the pensions industry including defined benefit pension schemes, decision making and delivering good outcomes.
Experience of leading multi-disciplinary teams of experienced professionals in cases of strategic and reputational importance.
Experience at coaching, mentoring and motivating others
Negotiating and influencing skills with experience of effectively utilising those skills, up to senior management level in a commercial or regulatory environment
Experience of demonstrating credibility, showing resilience and building and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Awareness of financial, commercial, political and social landscape
The team
The Trusteeship, Administration and DB Supervision team works to enhance the system and influence the delivery of better outcomes for savers, by working through a deep understanding of market-wide risks and opportunities.
The are 4 themes each focusing on specific areas of the market with a mixture of individual scheme/provider and industry-wide engagement. We work closely with both the Compliance and Enforcement Group and the Strategy, Policy and Adviser directorate.
