The Opportunity
As Design Engineering Manager, you’ll lead the mechanical design team while driving best practice, capability development, and technical excellence. The successful Design Engineering Manager will act as a key link between design, manufacturing, and commercial teams to ensure projects move smoothly from concept through to production.
Key responsibilities include:
* Leading and developing the mechanical design engineering team
* Driving best practice in 3D CAD modelling and technical standards
* Overseeing complex assembly design from concept to manufacture
* Collaborating cross-functionally with manufacturing, quality, and commercial teams
* Contributing to strategic decisions as part of the Senior Management Team
* Building structure, succession, and long-term capability within design
What We’re Looking For
The ideal Design Engineering Manager brings strong technical credibility combined with leadership capability.
You’ll ideally have:
* A solid background in Mechanical Engineering
* Experience with 3D CAD / modelling tools
* Proven team leadership or supervisory experience
* The ability to mentor and develop engineers
* Experience designing complex engineered products or assemblies
* Commercial awareness and senior-level perspective
You may already be a Design Engineering Manager, or a senior/principal engineer ready to step into a leadership role.
