About the job.
National Highways has an exciting opportunity for a Lighting Engineering Team Manager to join our team in the East region. The Engineering Team Manager will oversee activities and resources involved in asset needs identification and lead a team of engineers in prioritising asset needs and developing early scheme solutions for asset renewal and improvement.
Please note: You will be required to drive as part of your role. You should have no more than 3 points on your driving license to be considered for this position and during employment.
* Provide leadership, direction, and line management for a team of specialist engineers, ensuring objectives are set timely, performance is reviewed, and development plans are in place.
* Manage team resources to ensure appropriate levels for all activities, including providing technical support to Project Managers during scheme design and delivery.
* Act as the asset owner for the relevant asset class, ensuring management plans and decisions adhere to policies, provide value for money, and support business objectives.
* Identify, prioritise, and manage asset needs following governance and business goals.
* Serve as the Region's focal point, offering technical expertise in asset needs identification, prioritisation, and solution development.
About you.
* A Chartered Engineer with relevant experience or an Incorporated Engineer/near Chartered Engineer with extensive experience.
* A Civil Engineering Degree, HND with relevant experience, or equivalent.
* Good commercial and financial skills, including budget management.
* Knowledge of DMRB standards and their application on the highways network.
* Good knowledge of CDM 2015 regulations.
