Contract: Fixed‑term (Summer Programme Delivery)

Make a difference across the East Midlands
We are looking for a highly organised and driven Programme Officer to lead the development and delivery of EMCCA’s ambitious Summer of Sport programme.
This is a unique opportunity to design and deliver a high-profile, region-wide initiative that brings communities together, celebrates sport at all levels, and creates lasting economic and social impact across the East Midlands.


About the Role

As Programme Officer, you will take the lead in shaping a vibrant and inclusive programme of sporting activities and events across the region. From major national moments to grassroots community initiatives, you will coordinate a diverse calendar that ensures residents can engage, participate, and celebrate sport throughout the summer.
You’ll work at pace, managing multiple workstreams while building strong partnerships across local authorities, sports organisations, community groups, and businesses. Your ability to connect people, align priorities, and deliver results will be key to the programme’s success.


Key Responsibilities

* Design and deliver a dynamic, inclusive Summer of Sport programme aligned with EMCCA priorities
* Map and coordinate sporting events across the region, including local and nationally significant activities
* Build and manage relationships with stakeholders across public, private, and voluntary sectors
* Lead on event planning, logistics, safety, and compliance in collaboration with partners and emergency services
* Develop and manage funding or support packages to enable partner-led events
* Work closely with communications teams to promote the programme and maximise public engagement
* Monitor delivery, evaluate impact, and report on outcomes
* Ensure effective financial management, including budgets, grants, and procurement
* Represent EMCCA at events, meetings, and partnership forums


About You

We’re looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and can turn ideas into impactful delivery.


Essential

* Proven experience coordinating events, programmes, or community initiatives
* Strong programme and project management skills with excellent organisation
* Ability to build, maintain, and scale partnerships across diverse stakeholders
* Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skillsAbility to work independently and deliver at pace
* Understanding of the East Midlands region and its communities
* Educated to Level 3 (or equivalent experience)
* Event or project management training


Desirable

* Experience in community engagement or partnership development
* Experience managing budgets, grants, or funding programmes
