Offer description

We are seeking a proactive and experienced Stores Person to join our busy manufacturing operation. This role is ideal for someone who is ready to take on more responsibility and act as the Supervisors right-hand support, contributing to the smooth running of the stores, goods in/goods out, and stock control functions. You will play a key part in ensuring materials and finished goods flow efficiently through the business.

Key Responsibilities

* Manage all goods in and goods out processes, including checking, recording, and moving stock accurately.
* Operate forklifts safely and efficiently to move, load, and unload materials and finished products.
* Carry out regular stock takes, cycle counts, and maintain high levels of inventory accuracy.
* Pick and prepare orders for production and dispatch, ensuring accuracy and timely supply to manufacturing teams.
* Prepare parcels and pallets for shipment, ensuring secure packing and correct labelling.
* Book transport for shipments using online portals and liaise with carriers to ensure timely collections.
* Maintain accurate records of stock movements, job cards, and shipment documentation.
* Support the Supervisor with day-to-day coordination of stores activities, stepping up when required.
* Work collaboratively with warehouse, production, and dispatch teams to ensure smooth operational flow.
* Uphold all health and safety regulations and company policies.

Qualifications & Experience

* 23 years experience in a goods in/goods out or warehouse stores role.
* Proven experience and competency in stock control and stock taking.
* Demonstrable skills and capability within a stores/warehouse function.
* Forklift driving experience of 3+ years within the last 6 years (valid certification required).
* Experience order picking within a manufacturing or production environment.
* Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail.
* Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
* Confident using computer systems for stock management, booking transport, and tracking shipments.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
* A proactive mindset with the ambition to take on more responsibility and support supervisory duties.
Monday to Friday08:00 - 17:00Overtime paid at double time
