Are you an enthusiastic and dedicated teacher with a passion for Maths or Science? Do you want to work in a purpose-built, supportive environment helping young people with complex social, emotional, and behavioural needs (SEMH) thrive?
We are looking to appoint an outstanding Class Teacher with a specialist in Maths or Science to join a new, purpose-built school in Harlow opening this September 2025. This is an exciting opportunity to work with up to 64 pupils, including residential provision for 15 students, who benefit from a nurturing and inclusive setting designed to help them grow into confident, independent young adults.
Key Responsibilities:
* Plan and deliver high-quality lessons in Maths or Science, tailored to meet the needs of pupils with SEMH
* Support pupils with complex behavioural, social, and emotional difficulties to access the curriculum and make progress
* Implement effective behaviour management strategies to create a safe and productive learning environment
* Work collaboratively with a team of dedicated staff to promote pupils’ academic, social, and emotional development
* Contribute to the ongoing development of the school’s curriculum and enrichment activities
* Maintain accurate records of pupil progress and participate in regular reviews
Person Specification:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with relevant experience teaching Maths or Science
* Experience working with pupils with SEMH and/or SEND is highly desirable
* Understanding of the challenges faced by young people with complex needs and commitment to supporting their development
* Strong classroom management skills and the ability to implement behaviour support strategies consistently
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills
* Passionate about creating an inclusive, respectful, and positive school culture
