Fixed term for 1 year
An opportunity has arisen for a Physiotherapist to join our Community Rehabilitation Team based in St Andrews Community Hospital for a fixed term of 1 year. You will require NHS experience of working with adults, mainly Older People, and have assessment and treatment knowledge and skills associated with this patient group. Patients are seen in their own homes, in a homely setting, or as an outpatient. The team focus is on community rehabilitation, preventing unnecessary admission, supporting earliest possible discharge from hospital and enabling patients to remain as independent as possible in their homes.
Responsibilities
* Provide physiotherapy assessment and treatment for adults, mainly Older People, in community settings (home visits, outpatient clinics).
* Support early discharge from hospital and promote independent living.
* Supervise junior staff for Band 6 level where required.
* Travel throughout the area as part of this community-based post.
* Participate in regular supervision, personal development planning (PDP) and take advantage of training opportunities.
* Contribute to audit and service development activities.
* Occasionally work at another community hospital site as needed.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Degree in Physiotherapy and HCPC registration.
* Evidence of continuous professional development appropriate for the banding.
* Experience supervising junior staff for Band 6 level.
* Ability to travel across the area; this role is community-based.
* PVG scheme clearance prior to appointment (required).
* Right to work in the United Kingdom (UKVI) and compliance with pre-employment checks.
* Involvement in audit and service development is preferred.
Additional Information
* Interviews will be conducted face to face.
* Secondment policy considerations: existing permanent employees should discuss opportunities with their substantive line manager; external applicants with NHS service should have a secondment agreement in place.
* The Agenda for Change full-time working week will reduce from 37 to 36 hours from 1/4/26; part-time hours will be pro-rata with a corresponding increase in hourly rate.
* Salary is pro rata for part-time hours.
* Public holiday working is in operation (Christmas Day and New Year’s Day acceptable).
