We are seeking to recruit an experienced, knowledgeable and hard-working individual to the position of Deputy Chief Operating Officer.
The post holder will work closely with the Chief Operating Officer and Clinical Divisions in the delivery of the Trust’s objectives by providing strong, visible and professional leadership.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will be responsible for co-ordinating the delivery of all national and local performance standards ensuring that Operational teams utilise available performance and benchmarking information to facilitate improvements, improve service efficiency, quality and productivity.
They will provide expert advice across the full range of strategic development and operational performance against objectives, contracts, and targets, and deliver best practice solutions to meet the changing needs of the operational services
The successful candidate must possess recent significant senior operational management experience in an acute hospital, be educated to master’s level, have a track record of improving productivity and possess excellent communication skills. They must be dynamic, resilient and motivated to continually improve patient experience and ensure the highest standards of care.

Quals & Experience
Essential criteria
* Masters level education or equivalent experience
* Substantial recent leadership and operational management experience in an acute hospital.
* Experience of leading and managing substantial service change and redesign in a complex environment.
* Demonstrably track record of achievement of performance management improvement and delivery at a senior management level
Desirable criteria
* Management qualification
* Experience of managing both elective and non elective services.
