Job Description
As a Multi-Skilled Engineer, you'll excel in autonomously tackling diverse tasks, demonstrating proactive initiative and adept self-supervision. Your extensive expertise encompasses a wide array of electrical and HVAC systems, ensuring comprehensive knowledge and proficiency to effectively address any challenge.
Key Responsibilities
1. Ensuring compliance with H&S regulations, Risk Assessment, F-Gas, Low Voltage Safe Systems of Work, COSHH etc
2. To undertake PPM, proactive and reactive works issued through the helpdesk within relevant SLAs
3. Ability to complete tasks so that the customer expectations are exceeded
4. The majority of the duties will be air conditioning however first line reactive maintenance for electrical and switchgear issues
5. To provide minimum 1 in 4 out of hour’s callout response for the client as detailed on the callout rota
6. Carry out occasional planned night working as per PPM schedule
7. To undertake contractor control duties on behalf of the client, including monitoring of contractors and their workmanship, so that relevant standards are met. Issue of Permits to Work
8. To ensure that equipment operates to specified performance criteria
9. To ensure equipment and surrounding area conform to agreed company standards
10. To provide a professional service and represent the company in a way which ensures customer
satisfaction
11. To evaluate performance and ensure the proper servicing and maintenance of equipment under contract to the company is carried out
Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications
12. Air Conditioning: City and Guilds 2079 Safe Handling of Refrigerants or CITB J11 Equivalent
AND
13. NVQ 2/3 or City & Guilds in Commercial Refrigeration and AC Systems
14. Qualified Electrician 18th Edition IEE Wiring Regulations (BS:7671:2008)
15. Recognised apprenticeship in air conditioning in addition to relevant qualifications and excellent understanding of
Electrical fundamentals and LV distribution
Understanding/Experience of the following plant & equipment in order to provide effective first line response:
16. Static UPS
17. DC System’s
18. Emergency Generators & changeover
19. Chillers/Chilled Water distribution networks
20. LV Switchgear/distribution
21. Significant previous experience in providing multi discipline reactive and PPM building services maintenance within
a data centre or critical environment
22. Experience of working under strict Health & Safety procedures including Electrical Safe systems of Works (SSOW)
23. Risk Assessments and Method Statements
24. Low Voltage Authorised Person
25. IPAF/PASMA
26. IOSH
