Equans is looking for a Technical Services Manager – Mechanical
Location: Wakefield. Permanent, full‑time (37.5 hours per week). Competitive salary, bonus and benefits package.
Reporting
Reports to the Engineering Manager and is part of the team of site‑based leads for mechanical, electrical and building fabric technical service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage the site team, providing leadership and guidance to technical services operatives and supervisors and drive performance improvements.
* Demonstrate excellent customer skills with an ability to exceed customers’ expectations and maintain effective relationships/communication for the contract.
* Have detailed knowledge of contract Service Level Agreements (SLAs), opportunities and risks.
* Gain detailed, hands‑on knowledge of the site and provision of services.
* Ensure monitoring of services aligns with contract requirements and local agreements.
* Celebrate success and drive continuous improvement with the team, ensuring local interface between other FM Service Teams, NHS staff, Project Co and customers at all levels to deliver as one team.
* Organize and manage daily planned and reactive maintenance tasks using the Maximo CAFM system.
* Control and manage ordering and replenishment of critical spares and consumables required for day‑to‑day delivery of the service.
* Assist with Minor Works and associated contract revenue streams.
* Oversee and control raising of building defect and lifecycle issues to satisfactory conclusion with Project Co (Consort Healthcare).
* Ensure appropriate competent persons are trained and in place within the contract.
* Actively monitor and control safe working practices of internal staff, subcontractors and suppliers.
* Ensure adherence to all statutory standards and regulations and Department of Health requirements (e.g., HTMs).

Requirements
* Qualified to HNC/HND level in an engineering discipline.
* Proven managerial experience.
* Technical background with a mechanical bias, preferably with significant exposure to a healthcare environment.
* Hold or be willing to obtain AP appointments for MGPS, Mechanical Systems, L8.
* Demonstrate technical leadership.
* Must have (or be able to obtain) DBS clearance.
* Must have evidence of right to work in the UK.
