Role: Infrastructure Engineer
Location: Manchester
Salary: £50,000-£60,000
Work pattern: Hybrid
In this role you'll design, support, and maintain on-premises, cloud, and virtual desktop environments, ensuring secure, reliable, and high-performing systems. The role has a strong focus on Citrix, Microsoft cloud technologies, and modern endpoint management, and acts as a senior escalation point for the Service Desk.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Design, implement, and support infrastructure across on-premises and cloud platforms.
2. Administer Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, GPO, and certificate services.
3. Manage virtualisation platforms including VMware and XenServer.
4. Support and optimise Citrix Virtual Apps & Desktops and Citrix Cloud.
5. Administer Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 services.
6. Manage endpoint security, compliance, and application deployment using Microsoft Intune.
7. Act as an escalation point for complex issues.
8. Troubleshoot infrastructure, cloud, network, Citrix, and endpoint incidents and implement permanent fixes.
9. Manage networking and security services including firewalls, VPNs, VLANs, and wireless networks.
