The role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for Contract Managers to join our Procurement and Commercial (P&C) team supporting the ASTI & RIIO T3 Onshore Capital Delivery programme.
Reporting to the Procurement & Commercial Manager, you will provide the necessary pre and post contract procurement and commercial support to some of the largest projects within the SSE JV portfolio. This is an excellent opportunity to grow within the business and contribute to its continued expansion.
This role is suitable for someone from a Quantity Surveying background with experience working either on the Client or Contractor side. No specific experience in the Energy sector is required but would be advantageous.
You will
* Support P&C Manager / Senior CM in negotiating contract T&C’s for projects of significant value (from £50M to £500M) and manage the commercial aspects during the delivery phase.
* Negotiate contract prices, ensure they can be substantiated, and provide value for money to consumers.
* Demonstrate extensive stakeholder engagement and management skills, with the ability to influence, lead, and resolve disputes, along with problem solving.
* Manage costs and forecasts through regular reporting, ensure change management procedures are followed, and oversee payment and expenditure management.
* Provide robust post-contract commercial management to support project goals, including negotiating/agreeing on compensation events and implementing the principles of the Commercial Manual.
* Promote safety and safe working practices internally and externally to improve safety performance.
You have
* A Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent, with professional membership of RICS or CICES in progress or achieved.
* Experience in estimating, sourcing management, cost & budget management, and contract administration.
* Experience drafting and interpreting commercial contracts, with knowledge of Standard Form contracts and NEC.
