Job Opportunity: Engineering Supervisor (Electrical Bias) at University of Greenwich
We’re seeking a skilled and motivated Engineering Supervisor (Electrical Bias) to join our Technical Services team at the Avery Hill Campus, University of Greenwich.
This role involves leading the on-site residential M&E team, overseeing daily operations, ensuring compliance, and actively participating in both planned and reactive maintenance. You will be a key contact for maintaining essential building services across the campus, collaborating closely with the Engineering Lead, Facilities Manager, and the wider Sodexo team.

Responsibilities:
1. Lead and supervise a team of on-site engineers, supporting their performance, training, and development.
2. Oversee planned and reactive maintenance across M&E and building fabric systems.
3. Coordinate daily operations with the Helpdesk team to ensure prompt responses to service requests.
4. Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety policies, Safe Systems of Work, and Permit to Work procedures.
5. Conduct routine audits to uphold high standards of quality, compliance, and documentation.
6. Manage subcontractors and specialist suppliers, including scheduling, quality assurance, and safety checks.
Qualifications and Experience:
1. HND, NVQ, or equivalent in a relevant field.
2. Extensive practical experience in building services and plant engineering, with formal qualifications in a discipline such as electrical or mechanical engineering.
3. Previous appointment as an Authorised Person in disciplines like LV, Mechanical Services, Confined Spaces, or Pressure Systems.
4. Experience working within or around World Heritage Listed properties or similar environments.
5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
6. Numerate and proficient in computer use.
7. Previous experience managing a team of engineers.
8. Level 3 Award in the Requirements for Electrical Installations.
9. Level 3 Award in the Initial Verification and Certification of Electrical Installations.
10. Membership of the Institute of Leadership and Management.
11. IOSH Managing Safety certification.
