Fleet Engineer Ardrossan & Arran
Fancy leading a team of engineers who maintain and repair a diverse fleet of vehicles, as well as managing plant and buildings? You could develop your engineering team to enhance their skills, passing on your technical knowledge to both experienced technicians and apprentices alike.
People management won’t be completely new to you. You don’t have to be an existing Fleet Engineer, but you’ll need to evidence how you’ve managed teams, irrespective of their size. Working with our operational teams to ensure excellent service delivery will be second nature.
We’re looking for an experienced engineer to join and lead our engineering team at our Ardrossan & Arran depots based in West Scotland. You’ll be leading a dedicated team of engineers who maintain and repair a modern and varied fleet of over 40 vehicles so our customers can travel safely and comfortably every day to healthcare and employment, to shopping and leisure, and to see friends and family.
We are already introducing a fleet of Electric Vehicles into the area and are looking for someone who is friendly, flexible, reliable and takes pride in their work. You’ll have autonomy over resource management, stock and people, and we’ll provide support, training and development wherever you need to be a brilliant Fleet Engineer.
Aside from the satisfaction of being a key worker in your community, there are many reasons to join the Stagecoach West Scotland team.
Responsibilities
* Lead and develop a team of engineers responsible for maintaining and repairing a diverse fleet of vehicles (over 40) and depot facilities.
* Collaborate with operational teams to ensure high standards of service delivery.
* Manage resources, stock, and people with autonomy, while receiving ongoing support and development.
* Contribute to the rollout of Electric Vehicles in the region and support related depot infrastructure projects.
Benefits
* Great benefits – generous pension, 33 days holiday, free travel for you and a companion, and discounts on holidays, retail, cinema, and more. Includes an employee assistance programme with 24/7 confidential support for health, wellbeing, and personal/work issues.
* Training – dedicated high-level training to reinforce skills and enable career progression.
* Varied work – depot-based work plus field assignments; involvement with electric vehicle deployment and depot infrastructure.
* Job security – as a key worker in the community, servicing a fleet of multiple vehicle brands (Alexander Dennis, Scania, Volvo, Optare).
* Secondment opportunities – opportunities to work elsewhere in the business, including events or head office support functions.
* Great working environment – supportive colleagues, inclusive networks, and a positive culture.
The recruitment process is simple – you apply with your CV, we’ll review it, invite you for an interview and a depot tour, and that’s it!
