About the Role
There are 3 roles available on a part-time basis for 30, 26, or 36 hours, with the shift patterns below:
1. Shift pattern 1 for 30 hours per week:
o Monday 12:30 – 18:30
o Tuesday 12:30 – 18:30
o Wednesday 8:00 – 14:00
o Thursday 8:00 – 14:00
o Friday 12:30 – 18:30
2. Shift Pattern 2 for 26 hours per week:
o Monday 8:00 – 13:30
o Wednesday 8:00 – 13:30
o Thursday 8:00 – 13:30
o Friday 8:00 – 18:30 (includes 1 hour unpaid lunch break)
3. Shift Pattern 3 for 36 hours:
o Monday 8:00 – 18:30 (includes 1 hour unpaid lunch break)
o Tuesday 8:00 – 13:00
o Wednesday 12:30 – 18:30
o Thursday 12:30 – 18:30
o Friday 8:00 – 18:30 (includes 1 hour unpaid lunch break)
Responsibilities
* Answering the telephone.
* Managing online triage requests.
* Dealing with patient enquiries at the surgery.
* Booking and cancelling appointments.
* Booking in arriving patients.
* Handling non-clinical enquiries regarding prescriptions.
* Recording home visit requests.
* Tidying waiting areas and clinicians’ rooms.
* Filing notes, correspondence, results, etc.
* Taking results from hospitals via telephone.
* Calling patients with results or scans at the doctor’s request.
* Contacting patients as needed.
* Attending staff practice meetings.
* Chaperoning patients when necessary.
* Using SystmOne to send internal tasks, access patient records, send messages, and write correspondence.
Candidate Requirements
You must be a team player with excellent communication skills, a good telephone manner, and the ability to work under pressure. The following skills/abilities are desirable:
* Strong interpersonal and prioritisation skills.
* Commitment to delivering quality service, teamwork, and proactive improvement.
* Ability to plan ahead, respond to changes, and understand their impact on service delivery.
* Effective engagement and interaction with stakeholders, providing advice and support.
* Experience with General Practice and SystmOne is preferable.
