Senior Specialist Speech & Language Therapist - £3000 Golden Hello Bonus (T&Cs apply)
Salary: £46,224 - £53,789
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm (35 hours/week)

Main Purpose:
To work within a multidisciplinary team providing speech and language therapy (SaLT) to people with acquired brain injury (ABI), leading SaLT services within the organization, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities:
1. Apply neurobehavioral approaches to brain injury, demonstrating current research knowledge and best practices.
2. Manage a caseload of individuals with complex health needs or challenging behaviors.
3. Use evidence-based, client-centered practices for assessment, planning, implementing, and evaluating interventions.
4. Conduct comprehensive assessments to develop rehabilitation goals, care plans, and therapy programs.
5. Address communication barriers, obtain informed consent, and work within legal frameworks when necessary.
6. Seek consent and advocate for sharing information while respecting confidentiality.
7. Provide information about communication abilities and support needs.
8. Perform swallowing assessments, develop care plans, and train staff in dysphagia management.
9. Ensure safety and risk management, and contribute to safety improvements.
10. Maintain equipment and inventory, reporting needs to management.
11. Maintain HCPC registration and meet professional standards.
Other Responsibilities:
Leadership: Develop and lead speech and language therapy services, collaborate with teams, and participate in clinical governance.
Research & Development: Engage in research, audits, and service improvement initiatives.
Facilitation of Learning: Support training, education, and professional development within the team.
Personal Development: Maintain competence through ongoing learning, supervision, and training.
About You:
* Degree in Speech and Language Therapy
* HCPC registered
* Achieved Dysphagia competencies
* Experience in hospital or residential settings
* Specialist knowledge in ABI interventions
* Minimum 4 years qualified experience, including complex case management
