Electrical Design Engineer - Poole

Key Responsibilities
* Design electrical systems, control panels, and layouts using SolidWorks and CAD tools
* Work closely with the production team to support the build, wiring, and assembly of machinery
* Translate design concepts into practical, manufacturable solutions
* Produce and maintain electrical schematics, drawings, and technical documentation
* Assist with hands‑on tasks including panel wiring, machine builds, and system modifications
* Support testing, commissioning, and fault‑finding on completed systems
* Collaborate with mechanical engineers to ensure seamless integration of systems
* Identify design improvements based on feedback from the shop floor
* Ensure compliance with relevant electrical and safety standards
* Provide ongoing engineering support during production and post‑installation
What We’re Looking For
* Degree, HNC, or HND in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
* Strong experience with SolidWorks or similar CAD software
* Background in an industrial or manufacturing environment
* Ability to work both as a design‑focused engineer and a hands‑on Electrical Engineer
* Strong understanding of control systems and electrical components
* Experience producing and interpreting electrical schematics
* Problem‑solving mindset with strong fault‑finding skills
* Exposure to bespoke machinery and workshop environments
* Knowledge of PLCs and automation systems
* Panel design and build experience within a Production Engineer or manufacturing setting
