Join us on this mission as a Senior Pyro Supervisor within the friendly and supportive Operations department, based in Chalgrove, Oxfordshire.
What You'll Be Doing
The Senior Pyro Supervisor role is responsible for the following departments
* Chalgrove Pyrotechnic x-ray,
* Leak test
* Part marking
The Senior Pyro Supervisor will be responsible for output, product quality, product and process costs with a special emphasis on improving 'on time' delivery performance and reduction of product lead times.
Aspects Of The Role To Include
Management responsibilities
* Monitoring work lists and ensuring priorities are completed on time.
* Conduct monthly ER2014 audits.
* Monitor and maintain department KPIs.
* Carry out yearly appraisals, ensuring staff are competent to by ensuring the skills matrix is maintained.
* Assist in the disposition of production/quality defects.
RT testing responsibilities
* Maintain and approve or prepare for approval radiographic techniques, procedures, ensuring compliance with ASTM standards.
* Carry out RT training and arrange training of new employees.
* Create and maintain radiographic acceptance criterion.
* Monitor x-ray systems ensuring phantom checks are carried out and approve if compliant to standards.

Characteristics & Skills
* Comprehensive product knowledge likely to have been gained within MBA or in a similar environment.
* Extensive experience of operating within a similar role.
* Extensive production manufacturing experience gained from operating in a similar environment.
* Broad working knowledge of current manufacturing philosophies including Lean Manufacturing, TQM, SPC, MRP, IIP and Value Stream Mapping in relationship with cellular manufacture.
* Thorough grounding in Health and Safety procedures.
* Team leadership skills and experience.
* Level 3 Accredited qualification (ASNT/NAS410/EN4179)
* NVQ 4 in an Engineering discipline or equivalent recognised Engineering degree/apprenticeship.
