Are you committed to making a positive difference for young people with special educational needs (SEN)? Teaching Personnel is working in partnership with a specialist school in the Royston area, and we are seeking a caring and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join their team full-time from September 2025.
About the Role
This is a highly rewarding opportunity to support students aged 9–19 with a range of complex learning needs, including autism, communication challenges, and physical disabilities. You will work alongside teachers and therapists, helping students in the classroom and during daily routines to develop their independence and confidence.
Your Key Responsibilities
* Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEN
* Assist in delivering individualised learning plans
* Support students with personal care, such as feeding and toileting
* Promote positive behaviour and encourage independence
* Collaborate with staff, families, and other professionals to support student progress
What We’re Looking For
* Experience working with children or young people with SEN (in education, care, or a support role)
* Confidence in providing personal care where required
* A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach to supporting vulnerable learners
* An Enhanced Child-only DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
* Availability for full-time, term-time work, Monday to Friday

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
