A progressive school in Barnet is looking to appoint a SEN Teaching Assistant to work with KS2 children with SEMH and ASD needs. This position runs from September 2025 to July 2026. You will work one-to-one and with small groups of children under the guidance of the Class Teacher. The school is rated ‘good’ by Ofsted and aims to be ‘outstanding’. The children are friendly and eager to learn, and the staff are very supportive. The school is a 3-form entry with excellent classroom facilities and a large playing field. Free parking is available. Pay starts from £90.00 per day.
The successful candidate will have:
1. At least one year’s experience working with children, preferably in an educational setting
2. An interest in supporting children with SEMH and ASD needs
3. Good literacy and numeracy skills
4. A strong understanding of behaviour management strategies
5. Ideally, an NVQ Level 3 for Teaching Assistant or equivalent
