Junior Cyber Security Analyst – Contract Location: Gloucester or Glasgow (UK)

My client, a leader in the UK’s nuclear services industry, is seeking a Junior Cyber Security Analyst to support the company’s ongoing cyber assurance, regulatory compliance, and third-party risk management activities. This contract role offers a unique opportunity to contribute directly to national security initiatives, working alongside experienced cyber professionals within a highly regulated environment.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Provide administrative and operational support to internal cyber security teams and third-party assurance processes.
Help manage the team’s shared mailbox and respond to day-to-day business-as-usual (BAU) queries.
Coordinate with external stakeholders to meet deadlines and ensure compliance documentation is processed efficiently.
Assist with data analysis to inform performance metrics and reporting.
Maintain secure handling of sensitive nuclear information in accordance with internal policies and external regulations.
Support the review of Third-Party Security Assessments and occasionally provide on-site audit support.
Ensure ongoing compliance with ISO27001, HMG Security Policy Framework, GDPR, and other relevant standards.
About You:
Familiar with cyber security principles, standards, and frameworks (e.g. ISO27001, ISO27017, GDPR, Cyber Essentials Plus).
Strong administrative and organisational skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel ; knowledge of Power BI is a plus.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proactive, detail-oriented, and eager to learn.
Able to work collaboratively with stakeholders at all levels and across departments.
