Maintenance Technician - (Electrical or Mechanical Bias)Cambridge
I am working with a world-class research organisation based in Cambridge who are on the lookout for a skilled Maintenance Technician to join their Facilities team.
Whether your expertise lies in electrical systems or mechanical plant, if you've got the qualifications and strong hands-on experience, this could be a brilliant opportunity to support a high-tech scientific facility doing truly meaningful work in vital research operations.
What you'll be doing:
* Carrying out planned preventative and reactive maintenance across a busy and complex site
* Getting hands-on with building systems - including steam boilers, HVAC and BMS
* Liaising with internal stakeholders and supervising contractors
* Taking the lead on fault-finding, problem-solving, repair and system diagnostics
* On-call rota (around 6 - 8 weeks per year, with additional pay)
What we need from you:
* A recognised apprenticeship or equivalent qualification in either electrical or mechanical engineering, as an electrician, or plumbing.
* Solid experience maintaining complex buildings and systems
* Strong working knowledge of engineering services and building maintenance
* Experience working with BMS and HVAC systems
* A full UK driving licence
What can you expect in return:
* Salary of £32,367 - £34,383 per annum, depending on experience
* Additional payments when on on-call/call out
* Standard working hours are 8am - 4pm (36 hours per week)
* 40.5 days (including bank holidays and privilege days)
