Overview
The Employer Engagement Officer role is key to building and maintaining partnerships with employers to support positive employment outcomes for clients, including those with disabilities or disadvantages. It drives the delivery of the Employer Engagement Strategy by engaging new and existing employers, promoting inclusive recruitment practices, and managing outreach through events and social media. The role is vital in connecting businesses with service users, ensuring employer needs are met while creating sustainable opportunities for clients.
Responsibilities
* Proactively engage employers through calls, meetings, networking events, social media, and public speaking.
* Plan, promote, and deliver employer and career events, working with partners, clients, and within set budgets.
* Build and maintain strong employer relationships, securing meetings with decision-makers and supporting inclusive recruitment practices.
* Collaborate with partner organisations, interest groups, and Job Centre Plus to strengthen joint working.
* Represent the service at conferences, networking events, and equality & diversity groups.
* Support colleagues in delivering the employer engagement strategy and adapting to changing service needs.
* Maintain accurate records of engagement activity and regularly update databases.
* Work to agreed targets, including employer outreach, conversions, and developing a bank of employer contacts for client opportunities.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Due to the nature of work, an Enhanced DBS check (provided by the Company) will be carried out.
* Full UK driving licence and use of a personal vehicle, with business mileage reimbursed in line with company policy.
* Proven track record in employer engagement and partnership development.
* Experience in a sales or recruitment environment.
* Knowledge of employers in Kent, Medway and East Sussex is desirable, but not essential.
* Confidence in public speaking, presenting and delivering training.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
