We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Camden to assist with the appointment of a Caretaker - Non Resident, on a 1-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.
Rate of Pay: £16.43 - £21.48 per hour
Summary:
The Non-Residential Caretaker will play a key role in maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming environment across Camden Councils housing estates. The postholder will ensure communal areas are well-maintained, support health and safety compliance, and provide a visible and approachable presence for residents. The role requires practical maintenance skills, knowledge of cleaning processes and COSHH regulations, and the ability to work independently while also contributing to the wider housing team.
Responsibilities:
* Carry out day-to-day cleaning, caretaking, and minor maintenance duties within housing estates.
* Ensure communal areas, including stairwells, lifts, entrances, and outdoor spaces, are kept clean, safe, and hazard-free.
* Monitor health and safety risks on site and take prompt action to address or report hazards.
* Safely handle, store, and use cleaning chemicals in line with COSHH regulations.
* Carry out minor repairs and report any significant repairs or maintenance needs.
Knowledge:
* Understanding of Health and Safety requirements, including risk awareness.
* Knowledge of COSHH regulations and safe handling of cleaning chemicals.
* Basic maintenance and repair knowledge (desirable).
Experience:
* Minimum six months experience in caretaking, facilities, cleaning, or estate management.
* Experience in working independently and taking initiative.
* Experience of delivering customer service to residents or the public.
