Role Overview
The main role for the Health Visitor (HV) is to be the designated named HV for all children within their caseload from antenatal to school entry age, excluding the unborn child. The HV will initiate the child's planning process, monitor their wellbeing, and assess needs. They will collaborate with families and agencies to develop and monitor a child's plan.
The postholder is responsible for maintaining clinical, staff, and information governance standards.

Candidate Requirements
Registration
Registered nurse or midwife at degree level or equivalent, with a post-registration qualification in Health Visiting/Public Health Nursing, registered on Part 3 of the NMC register.
Qualifications & Knowledge
Masters level education in a relevant nursing field or equivalent knowledge through NES modules on Assessment, Leadership, and Critical Thinking. Knowledge of legislation related to information sharing, data storage, and public protection, as well as health and social care pathways for safeguarding and early intervention.
Skills & Qualities
Experience in caseload management, partnership working with families, using assessment tools, risk management, and decision-making. Ability to develop policies and commit to professional development. A full UK/EU/EEA driving license is required.
Contract Details
Permanent, full-time, 37 hours/week.
Location & Working Pattern
Based in Hamilton Locality, working Mon - Fri, 9:00-17:00. Applicants may be considered for similar roles in other locations.
